Assess test metrics

Test metrics are essential to determine how your tests actually perform. They provide important insights, such as current success and failure rates for each iteration of your test cycles. Moreover, they offer a snapshot of the current testing state of your project. This helps you anticipate bottlenecks and adjust your release cycle as needed.

To assess test metrics, go to Reports > Test metrics and define data points. This populates an interactive dashboard which contains the following information:

  • Test execution result by cycle: aggregated test cycle execution status by test cycle (stacked or clustered).

  • Test execution by tester: number of test runs by tester.

  • Test execution by component: test run execution status by issue type (stacked or clustered).

  • Test execution result by version: test execution status by product version (stacked or clustered).

Define which data you want to see

Tricentis Test Management for Jira only populates this dashboard if you specify which data you want to see:

  • Select one or more Versions & Cycles.

  • Choose one or more Assignees.

  • Define which Components you're interested in.

Components are not available for team-managed environments in Jira. If you want to use the Components filter in such environments, you can leverage a third-party solution, such as Octo. Note that we don't offer support for third-party solutions.

Share your report

Data isn't as useful if you're the only one that sees it. You can easily share whatever view you create. Just select Export to PDF to download a PDF view of your current report.
