Play back the recording

After you stop the recording, you can play it back. This means that Tricentis ARA executes the same steps that you have performed during the recording.

With this function, you can check if your recorded test would execute properly in Tricentis Tosca. Tricentis ARA shows passed TestSteps in green and failed TestSteps in red. If the playback fails, Tricentis ARA displays an error message.

To play back the recording, you have the following two options:

During the playback, you can cancel the playback of the recording.

Play back the whole recording

To play back the whole recording, follow the steps below:

  1. Make sure that the recording is stopped.

  2. Select Replay recorded steps from the Tricentis ARA window.

Play back the recording starting from a specific TestStep

To play back the recording starting from a specific TestStep, follow the steps below:

  1. Make sure that the recording is stopped.

  2. Click on the icon next to the TestStep from which you want to play back the recording.

  3. Select Play from here from the context menu.

Cancel the playback of the recording

To cancel the playback of the recording, select Stop execution from the Tricentis ARA window.

When you cancel the playback, the currently running TestStep still executes before playback stops. Tricentis ARA then shows the results of the playback for the TestSteps which it tried to execute.
