Uninstall Agents

Over time, your testing needs can change. You may want to retire Elastic Execution Grid Agents Agent machines are the machines on which you execute your tests. They host the Agent Service and the Runners. The Agent Service receives the Flow from the server and directs it to the required Runner. The Runner actually executes the test., for instance because you want to switch to a better machine or you don't need them at all anymore. If you no longer need an Agent on a particular machine, you can uninstall it.

To do so, follow the steps below:

  1. Double-check the status of the Agent you want to uninstall:

    • Don't uninstall an Agent while it's executing. If you do, the execution either fails or cancels.

    • If the Agent just finished an execution, wait a bit. The Agent stores test results locally before it uploads them to the server; depending on the file size, this may take a couple of minutes. If you delete files before the Agent can upload them to the server, you risk losing data.

  2. On the Agent machine, stop the Agent service.

  3. If you run the Agent as a Windows Service, delete the service.

  4. Delete the Agent directory.

  5. Remove any temporary files in %TEMP%/E2G .

  6. Remove the Agent from the list in the Agents tab.
