Importing Workflow Templates

LiveCompare includes a set of template workflows, which are designed to perform SAP comparison and analysis tasks in a number of application areas. The template workflows are accessible from the read-only Data/Templates folder in the LiveCompare hierarchy. Select a template subfolder to list its workflows in the Details pane. Each workflow has a link to a help file which describes how it should be configured.

The LiveCompare ‘Data’ hierarchy includes an additional templates folder named Workflow Library. This folder has read-write access and is used to store your own exported workflows.

Workflow templates are stored as XML files on the LiveCompare server. They cannot be edited or run directly; to make use of a workflow template, it must be imported into a workspace to create a workflow. If you have LiveCompare Editor privileges, a workflow template or template folder may be imported into a workspace by carrying out the following steps.

To import a workflow template:

  1. Expand the Data/Templates or Data/Workflow Library folder in the LiveCompare hierarchy, and select the workflow template you wish to import.
  2. Drag the workflow template into the root folder for a workspace, or into a workspace’s Workflows folder. A workflow is created from the template. If the selected template calls any workflows using the Run Workflow action, the called workflows are imported into the workspace.

Alternatively, select a workflow template in the LiveCompare hierarchy and choose Copy to Workspace… from the context menu.

To import a template folder:

  1. Select a template folder in the LiveCompare hierarchy.
  2. Drag the template folder into the root folder for a workspace. Workflows from the template folder and any of its subfolders are imported into the workspace. Templates that already exist in the target workspace are not imported.
