Legacy Reports

This article provides information about available legacy reports,

All qTest cross-project reporting should be done through qTest Insights or Tricentis Analytics, our self-service business intelligence tools for test analytics.

The following legacy reports are available on the Reports tab of the Site Administration page.

  • Defects across Projects. The Defects across Projects report provides you with detailed data for all defects across multiple projects, such as defect IDs, statuses, and submitted and closed dates.

  • Test Execution across Projects. The Test Execution across Projects report provides you with detailed test execution data across multiple projects, such as test case IDs, execution types, and planned start and end dates.

Access the Legacy Reports

  1. From the user name drop-down menu, select Administration.

  2. The Site Administration page displays. Select the Reports tab.

    Available legacy reports display in the Report Type panel on the left side of the screen.

Run a Legacy Report

  1. Click the report name in the Report Type panel on the left side of the screen.

  2. Click the Projects field in the Report Settings section. From the drop-down menu that appears, select the check boxes for the projects that you want to include information for in the report.

    You can click Select All to quickly select all listed projects.

  3. Click Show to run the report.

Once the report has run, you can click Download XLS to download the report as an .xls file, allowing you to save report results and review the report at a later time.

Share a Legacy Report across Projects

  1. Create a project group to share the report with.

  2. Share the project group with certain users or project user profiles.

Once a project group has been created and shared, qTest Manager users who have been included in a shared project group will be able to see the project group's reports on the Report tab of any accessible projects.

View Cross-Project Reports

Cross-project reports are reports that have been shared across projects. These reports show data based on settings for the associated project group, as defined by the site administrator. Once a project group has been created and shared with users, users can view reports by doing the following.

  1. Select a qTest Manager project.

  2. Select the Report tab.

  3. On the left panel, click Cross Project Reports to expand it. You will see all project groups shared with you.

  4. Expand the folder of a project group and select the report you want to view.

For now, our reports have not supported defects tracked in the external system. If your projects are integrated with an external defect tracker, the report will show no defect.
