Project Groups

Project Groups is a legacy feature that is primarily used for sharing legacy reports across projects.

All reporting should now be conducted in Tricentis Analytics or qTest Insights.

Create a Project Group

  1. On the Site Administration page, click the Project Groups tab.

  2. Click Add new group.

  3. Click Untitled and enter a new project group name. Press the Enter key to save the name.

  4. In the Project List section, select the check boxes for the projects that you want to add to the project group.

  5. The Mappings section appears. For each item, select the value in the Project Values field that you want to map from each project to the respective project value in the project group.

  6. (Optional) Click the Edit icon for a value set to display the Edit System Field window, where you can perform the following actions.

    • Click Add Value to add a row for a new custom value.

    • Click the value in the Display Name column to enter a new display name for the value.

    • Click the icon in the Color column to display a palette of colors that you can select from for the value.

    • Select the Active check box to indicate that the value should be active. Clear the check box to indicate that the value should not be active.

    • Hover over the Action column for a row and click the Delete icon to delete the value.

    • Hover over the Action column for a row and click the Move Up icon to move the value up one position in the list. Click the Move Down icon to move the value down one position in the list.

    Click OK to save your changes on the Edit System Field window.

  7. Click Save to save the new project group.

Share a Project Group

For a user to view the cross-project reports of your project group, the project group must be shared with the user.

  1. On the Site Administration page, click the Project Groups tab.

  2. In the Group List section, hover over the project group that you want to share. Then click the Share Project Group icon in the Action column. The Share Project Group window appears.

  3. Click the Select profiles field. From the drop-down menu that appears, select the check boxes for the profiles that you want to share the project group with.

    You can click Select All to quickly select all listed profiles.

  4. Click the Select users field. From the drop-down menu that appears, select the check boxes for the users that you want to share the project group with.

    You can click Select All to quickly select all listed users.

  5. Click Add to add the selected profiles and users to the project group.

  6. Click OK to save your selections.

Unshare a Project Group

  1. On the Site Administration page, click the Project Groups tab.

  2. In the Group List section, hover over the project group that you want to share. Then click the Share Project Group icon in the Action column. The Share Project Group window appears.

  3. Hover over the profile or user that you want to delete. Then click the Delete icon in the Actions column to remove the profile or user from the project group.

  4. Click OK to save your selections.

Modify a Project Group

  1. On the Site Administration page, click the Project Groups tab.

  2. In the Group List section, you can perform the following actions.

    • Edit the project group. Hover over the project group that you want to edit. Then click the Edit icon in the Action column to display the Project Group page, where you can change settings, including the project group name, the projects that are included in the project group, or the project value mappings.

    • Edit the profiles or users that the project group is shared with. Hover over the project group that you want to change shared profiles or users for. Then click the Share Project Group icon in the Action column to display the Share Project Group window, where you can add the profiles or users that you want to share the project group with.

    • Delete the project group. Hover over the project group that you want to delete. Then click the Delete icon in the Action column to delete the project group.

    • Activate the project group. Select the check box in the Active column for a project group to activate the project group. Clear the check box to deactivate the project group.
