Tosca-Vera Integration

qTest lets you integrate your Tosca tests with Vera, which is an e-signature tool used for validation testing within a LifeSciences FDA regulated environment. This integration allows you to route an automated test case from Tosca to Vera for e-signature approval before executing the test case.

If you work with regulated applications, for instance in the life sciences industry, we recommend that you integrate with Tosca and Vera. This integration simplifies your Computer Systems Validation (CSV) process:

  • Manage requirements and objectives in qTest, sign off in Vera.

  • Create automated tests in Tosca that fulfill all requirements and objectives.

  • Trigger pre-execution approval in qTest, sign off in Vera.

  • Trigger execution in Tosca or qTest.

qTest subscriptions don't include the e-signature integration. You must have a Vera license to use this feature with qTest.

Enable Integration

In order to use qTest-Tosca-Vera integration, you need to set up integrations with both programs:

For more information on how to enable pre-execution approval from Tosca, see Enable pre-execution approval in the Tosca manual.

Version requirements

Make sure that your environment meets the following requirements:

  • You have installed Tosca and Tosca Server 16.0 or later.

  • You have a multi-user Tosca environment.

  • You have installed qTest SaaS or OP 11.3 and set up the Tosca /qTest integration.

  • You have installed Vera 2023.1 and set up the qTest/Vera integration.

Route Tosca test cases to Vera for pre-execution approval

Now that you enabled the integration, you can route Tosca test cases to Vera for approval.

Note that, for this process, you need user permissions to edit test cases.
