Create types

In case security is enabled and the selected repository is authorized, the functionality described on this page may be restricted depending on the user groups you belong to. Contact your Administrator for access rights (read/write content and change configuration).

You can use the Test Data Management to create a type in your test data repository.

To create a type, follow the steps below:

1. Open the Test Data Management.

2. Open the repository where you want to add a new type.

3. Click Add Type. The Add Type dialog opens.

4. Enter the Name of the new type.

5. Optionally, check the Import data from file box if you want to immediately import data to the newly created type.

   Specify the following:

   • File: Use the Browse button to choose the file to import.

     In case of a .csv file, specify the following:

     • Encoding: Select what type of encoding you want to use. The default is UTF-8.

     • Separator: Specify the character you want to use as a field separator. The default is ;.

6. Click Add to add the type.
