Use Live View to interact with the mobile device

In the Live View window, you can interact with the mobile device during the Mobile Scan. Interactions with the Live View window enable you to navigate the application you scan, for example, when you use the Next Screen function or when you scan elements that are not open. These functions are especially helpful when you connect with the device, emulator, or simulator remotely.

After you have successfully enabled Live View during the scan, you can perform the following interactions:

The result of each interaction is visible in the Live View window after approximately 2 seconds depending on your connection type and configuration.

When you select the controls in the mobile application you scan, you can no longer interact with the mobile device. If you want to interact with the device again, click the Finish screen button in the XScan window.

When you use an Android emulator, ensure that you interact with Live View when the emulator is in one of the following screen orientations:

  • Portrait with the Back, Home, and App Overview buttons at the bottom of the emulator screen.

  • Landscape with the Back, Home, and App Overview buttons on the right side of the emulator screen.
