Steering Test Objects

Test objects are steered business-based in the TestCases section (blue). The TestStepValues constitute the actual steering parameters. A TestStepValue always represents a certain control type, e.g. a button, an edit box, a table etc.

There are various steering options available for basic control types and tables. This chapter mainly concerns the steering of basic controls. Table steering is described in chapter "Steering tables" in more detail.

Basic control types are steered via the Value column in combination with the ActionMode column and the DataType.

For further details on how to specify values via the Value column, please refer to chapter "Specifying values".

A detailed description of the TestStepValues and their properties and options can be found in chapter "TestStep Values, Using XTestStep Values".

The following subchapters describe steering options based on the selected ActionMode.

Please refer to chapter "Steering Controls" for further details on how to steer TBox controls.
