Create Cloud workspaces

In Tricentis Cloud Tosca Commander, you can create a workspace from the Tricentis Cloud Repository, a conventional multi-user workspace or a single-user workspace. For more information on workspaces, see chapter "Create and manage workspaces".

To create a cloud workspace you have to log in to Tricentis Cloud.

Create a workspace from the Tricentis Cloud Repository

To create a new Cloud workspace in Tosca Commander, follow the steps below:

  1. In Tosca Commander, switch to the Projects tab. This takes you to the options and settings area.

  1. In the left sidebar menu, select the option New. This returns you to the home page in Tosca Commander and opens the Create new workspace dialog.

  1. In the Common Repository area of the Tosca Commander: Create new workspace dialog, select the option Tricentis Cloud Repository under Select type of Repository:

  1. Disable the Use Existing Repository check box if you wish to use a new repository.

  2. Click the Log in to Tricentis Cloud button to log into your existing account, or to create a new account.

    When you are logged in, the Log in to Tricentis Cloud button is replaced with your user name.

  1. Click on the Project Name dropdown menu to create a workspace in an existing project, or create a new project by unchecking the Use existing Repository checkbox and entering a new project name in the Project Name field.

  2. In the Workspace section of the dialog, the file path C:\Tosca_Projects\TOSCA_Workspaces is generated in the Create new workspace in: input field by default.

    If you want to store your workspace in another file location, open the Browse for Folder dialog by clicking on the ellipsis icon. Select the storage location you want and then click on OK. Alternatively, you can select the storage location you want and click on Make New Folder. A folder entitled New folder is generated in the Tosca_Workspace folder in the C drive and can be renamed. If you select another file location, e.g. Desktop, the file is generated within that folder's tree.

  1. In the Workspace area, define a workspace name under Select name for new workspace:.

  1. Click on OK.

    Your new workspace is created and automatically opens.

Change Cloud user

To change Cloud users, close your workspace and log out.

Open your workspace

To load an existing workspace, follow the steps below:

  1. In Tosca Commander, switch to the Project tab to take you to the options and settings area.

  1. In the left sidebar menu, select the option Open.

  1. Select your project if displayed in the Recent Projects list. If not displayed, click on Browse at the bottom right of the screen. The Open Workspace dialog appears at the file location C:\Tosca_Projects\TOSCA_Workspaces. Select your workspace and click on Open to load it.
