Dynamic menu - TestCaseDesign

This dynamic menu includes options that can be selected within the TestCaseDesign section in Tosca Commander.

Dynamic menu TestCaseDesign

The Create Folder option in the dynamic menu TestCaseDesign provides the following options:

Creates a duplicate of the selected object.

Element Structure from Clipboard

Creates a new element structure on the basis of attributes and instances, which are defined in Microsoft® Excel and located in the clipboard (see chapter "Use TestSheets").

Creates a new Instance in the selected TestSheet or Attribute.

Creates a new Instance directly beneath the selected Instance.

Instances from values

Creates Instances from textual values in instantiated TestSheets (see chapter "Work with Instances").

Instances from Clipboard

Creates Instances from the clipboard in the selected Attribute or TestSheet (see chapter "Work with Instances").

Class

Creates a new class in the selected folder.

Create Schema for TDM

Opens a dialog box where you can enter connection information to generate a TDM Schema from the selected TestSheet (see chapter "Test Data Management in TestCase-Design").

Step

Creates a new TestCaseDesign Step in the selected TestSheet (see chapter "Use TestCase-Design Steps").

Step (after this)

Creates a new Step directly beneath the selected Step.

Creates a new test configuration parameter.

TestSheet

Creates a new TestSheet in the selected folder.

Optimize Instances
->Merge Instance Duplicates

Removes all Instances from the selected TestSheet which possess objects of identical values (see chapter "Merge duplicate Instances").

This arranges the Instances of the selected Attribute (see chapter "Work with Instances").

->Convert Instances to Values

Converts the Instances of the selected Attribute into simple values (see chapter "Work with Instances").

Converts simple values of the selected Attribute into Instances, provided that this does not have any Instances yet (see chapter "Work with Instances").

->Convert Instance(s) to Attribute(s)

Converts all Instances of the selected TestSheet or Attribute in Attributes if this contains solely Instances.

Converts all Attributes of the selected TestSheet or Attribute in Instances if this contains solely Attributes.

Converts the selected Attribute into a TestCaseDesign Step (see chapter "Use TestCase-Design Steps").

Converts the selected TestCaseDesign Step into an Attribute (see chapter "Work with Attributes").

Toggle Business Relevance

Modifies the value of the property BusinessRelevant of the selected Attribute (see chapter "Toggle Business Relevance").

Inner Values
->Update instance weights

This calculates the Instance weight of the selected TestSheet or Attribute based on the weight that is collected from the weight of Attributes and Attribute Instances (see chapter "Work with Inner Values").

->Auto assign instance weights

This defines automatically the weight of the Instances and Attributes of the selected TestSheets or Attributes (see chapter "Work with Inner Values").

->Reset WeightLack

Accepts a WeightLack and standardizes the overall contribution of the TestCases to 1 in the selected TestSheet. A WeightLack indicates the value of an instance which is not yet in use and its impact on the overall contribution (see chapter "Reset WeightLack").

 

Fill empty Values
->Specific

Defines a value for each Instance of the selected TestSheet or Class on the Attribute level.

This option opens a dialog box to select an existing value in order to fill empty fields. If an Attribute does not have any Instances, you can enter a user-specific value.

Fill empty Values
->Orthogonal

Defines a value for each Instance of the selected TestSheet or Class on the Attribute level.

All child Instances are transferred as values for the Attribute. Values are filled as described in chapter "Combinatorial methods".

Clear values

This deletes values of the selected Instance or it deletes the values for the selected Attribute in the Instances.
