Working with manual TestCases

TestSteps for manual TestCases can either be recorded automatically or manually created. They also allow additional information to be added.

Manual TestSteps can be converted into automated TestSteps (see chapter "Automating manual TestCases").

Creating manual TestCases

TestCases for manual testing are created as described in chapter "Create TestCase". The TestCases can be structured by using folders.

Tosca uses manual TestSteps with several manual TestStepValues to perform the corresponding actions. To create manual TestSteps right-click onto a TestCase and select Create Manual TestStep from the context menu.

You can create TestStepValues for each manual TestStep by selecting the context menu option Create Manual TestStepValue.

The required ActionModes can be set in the same way as for automated TestCases (see "ActionMode").

Recording manual TestCases

Tosca enables you to record manual TestCases automatically with a click on the Manual Test Case icon in the Tosca Commander Home menu. If a Requirement is selected when recording starts, Tosca will automatically create a TestCaseLink.

For further details on how to record manual TestCases, please see also chapter "Automated recording of manual TestCases".

Running manual tests

Manual TestCases are processed in the Checklist. For further information see also chapter "Execute manual tests".
