Assign Tricentis User Administration user groups to projects

Tricentis User Administration allows you to centrally manage users across multiple projects. This saves you time and effort as your testing projects scale.

Once you've created your Tricentis User Administration users and organized them into groups, you need to assign your groups to projects. When you use Tricentis User Administration for authorization, only user groups that are assigned to a project are authorized to access this project.

Remove a group from a project

As your testing projects move along, you may need to change who has access to them. For instance if a particular group is finished with a project and should no longer have access to the test data. In this case, you can remove this group from a project.

Removing a group from a project only removes this group's access to the project. It doesn't remove the group itself or any of its users.

To remove a group from a project, follow these steps:

  1. Access Tricentis User Administration and click on Project Administration.

  1. In the Projects overview, click on the icon in the row of the project from which you want to remove the group.

  1. In the details view of the project, click the icon in the Groups field.

  2. The right side of the subsequent dialog shows all groups that have access to this project. Select the one(s) you want to remove and click Remove Groups.

What's next

Any user who's part of a group that you have assigned to a project has full access to all objects in this project. If you want to adjust rights and permissions, synchronize Tricentis User Administration with Tosca Commander. Then you can restrict viewing and write rights.
