Files and directories
This chapter provides an overview of the most important files and directories of RPA Studio.
All paths refer to a standard installation on the C: drive with the default paths suggested by Tricentis. Depending on your operating system, paths may vary.
Environment variables
During installation, RPA Studio creates the environment variables listed in the table below. You can modify all variables.

Every Windows user needs unlimited write access to the following directories:

%APPDATA%\TRICENTIS\RPA (where RPA Studio saves user-specific information, such as user settings or temporary files)
%RPA_HOME%
%RPA_HOME% is the default directory for RPA Studio. It contains all program-relevant files, such as DLL files, applications, and configuration files for RPA Studio.

Contains the SQL Server, DB2, and Oracle scripts you need to prepare the database for multi-user environments. |

Contains files for general access to RPA Studio workspaces in 64-bit systems. |
%RPA_HOME%\x86 |
Contains files for general access to RPA Studio workspaces in 32-bit systems. |
%RPA_PROJECTS%
This default directory contains all project-related data: temporary files, sample files, and configuration files.
The table below lists all relevant sub-directories:

Default directory for RPA Studio common repositories. In multi-user environments, all users must have access to this directory. |
%RPA_PROJECTS%\RPA_Workspaces |
Default directory for RPA Studio workspaces. It also contains the log files. |
%RPA_PROJECTS%\RPAStudio |
Default project directory for RPA Studio projects. It contains settings and templates for all RPA Studio projects that refer to it, for instance the RPA subset. |
%RPA_ALLUSERS_APPDATA%
This directory contains all user-specific files. These files concern modifications by users, for instance added definitions or modified settings.
If you uninstall RPA Studio, this directory is not removed.
