Details for Workflow Objects

To examine the details for a workflow object, double-click the object or select ‘View Details’ from the object’s context menu. The details displayed depend upon the type of object selected:

Parameters

Parameter objects are shown as yellow parallelograms in workflow diagrams. The Details screen for a parameter object displays the value of the parameter.

Actions

Action objects are shown as blue rectangles in workflow diagrams.

  • If an action has been run successfully, the Details screen normally displays a summary of the objects retrieved, compared, analyzed, reported upon or written to an External Data Source.
  • If an action has terminated with an error, the Details screen displays the error string.
  • If the ‘View Component Summary’ context menu option is chosen, the Details screen displays a summary for the selected component, including its name, ID and parameter definitions.
  • While the following actions are running, the Details screen displays a summary of their progress. Press the F5 key periodically to update the display.

Datasets

Dataset objects are shown as green lists in workflow diagrams. If a workflow action has populated a dataset, the Details screen displays the contents of the dataset. Note that if a String dataset contains a URL, the ‘View Details’ context menu or F3 key accesses the URL directly. This is also true for Image datasets, which store the URLs for charts generated by the Execute R action.
