U.07 - New SAP Transactions

This workflow identifies SAP transactions which exist on the target SAP system (System 2), but not on the source SAP system (System 1). The results are stored in a Dashboard report that provides data for the Upgrade Analysis Dashboard report.

Creating RFC Destinations

Before you begin, you will need to create RFC Destinations for each of the SAP systems you wish to compare. See the ‘Creating RFC Destinations’ help topic for details.

The Prepare Object Links Cache workflow from the Upgrade package should be run before the U.05 - Used Obsolete Transactions workflow is run against an RFC Destination for the first time, or to update the RFC Destination’s object links database after new support packs or transports have been applied.

Preparing the Workflow

To prepare the U.07 - New SAP Transactions workflow, drag its workflow template from the Templates folder into your own workspace, and modify the workflow as follows:

To specify the Current or As-Is system:

  1. Select the System 1 parameter and choose ‘Edit RFC Destination’ from its context menu to display the RFC Destination dialog.

  2. Select the RFC Destination for the system to analyze, then click ‘Save’.

To specify the New or To-Be system:

  1. Select the System 2 parameter and choose ‘Edit RFC Destination’ from its context menu to display the RFC Destination dialog.

  2. Select the RFC Destination for the system to analyze, then click ‘Save’.

Save the workflow using the ‘Save’ toolbar button.

Running the Workflow

To run the U.07 - New SAP Transactions workflow, click the 'Run' toolbar button, choose ‘Run Now’ from the diagram’s context menu, or press F5. The currently running workflow action is marked with an animated display. When the workflow execution has completed, select the Report URL dataset and choose ‘View Details’ from the context menu to display the associated Dashboard report. This URL is returned to the Run Complete Analysis workflow, and provides data for the Upgrade Analysis Dashboard report.

Dashboard Report

The Dashboard report generated by the U.07 - New SAP Transactions workflow includes a pie chart showing the number of new transactions on the target SAP system, grouped by Application Area.

This spreadsheet lists the transactions which exist on the target SAP system, but not on the Source SAP system.

New SAP Transactions by App

This spreadsheet provides a count of the new transactions on the target SAP system, grouped by Application Area.

Analysis Input Data

This Excel report contains a copy of the input parameters used to produce the App’s Dashboard report. The value of each input parameter is stored in a separate worksheet, which is named after the parameter whose value it contains.
