Upgrade to RPA Studio version 2020.2

This chapter contains all necessary information on how to upgrade from RPA Studio 2020.1 to 2020.2.

Upgrade process

To perform the upgrade, follow the steps below:

1. Request the newest RPA Studio version via the Tricentis Support Portal.

2. Copy and paste the installation file Tricentis RPA Studio<version number>.exe to every machine that currently has RPA Studio installed.

3. Uninstall the old RPA Studio version.

4. Install the new RPA Studio version as described in "Set up RPA Studio".

5. Perform the updates that are necessary if you have installed Tricentis RPA Orchestrator.

   The RPA Studio settings contain information that is vital for publishing Bots. After an upgrade, these settings are returned to default. Consequently, make sure to re-enter the following information:

   • In every RPA Studio workspace, define the endpoints of RPA Orchestrator and RPA Cockpit. For information on how to do so, see the Admin Guide section of the RPA Orchestrator manual: "Define the RPA Orchestrator and RPA Cockpit endpoints".

   • In every RPA Studio workspace whose users should be authorized to publish Bots, re-populate the setting Authenticate URL (see "Authorize users to publish Bots").

Upgrade from previous versions

If you want to upgrade from an earlier version to version 2020.2, perform the following, additional actions:

Upgrade from version 2019.10 or lower

Tricentis recommends that you import the 2020.2 subset, which also contains the Modules that were added in RPA Studio 2019.11 (see "RPA Studio release history").

If you want to have these Modules in your existing workspaces, you need to import the subset as described in "Import subsets manually".

If you create a new workspace after the upgrade, RPA Studio automatically loads the 2020.2 subset.
