Create Modules by scanning

When you design your Bot, you use the following types of Modules (see "Types of Modules"):

• Modules provided in the RPA subset

  These Modules are prepared special tasks that you can adapt to your needs.

• Modules you create by scanning

  These Modules contain information that the Bot needs to steer the controls of your application, i.e. operate the controls. For instance: click a button, write something into a text box, or check the content of a PDF file.

When you scan your application, you select the controls you want to steer.

RPA Studio collects the technical information on the selected controls and saves this information as a new Module.

In the Steps you create from the Module, you define what exactly the Bot should do.

What can you scan?

RPA Studio allows you to scan the following:

• User interfaces (see "Scan user interfaces")

• PDF files (see "Scan PDF files")

• Interfaces where you identify controls by image (see "Perform image-based scans")

• Mainframe applications (see "Scan Mainframe applications")

• Salesforce (see "Scan Salesforce")

• Application Programming Interfaces (see "Scan APIs")
