The Recorder menu

With the Recorder, you can create TestCases quickly and easily. To control the recording process, you use the Recorder menu.

The following guide helps you get to know the Recorder menu and explains how to use it.

Select the recording mode

You can use different recording modes depending on what you want to record.

• To record controls, use Recording Mode.

• To verify controls, use Verification Mode.

• To create an image-based TestStep, use Create Image Based TestStep Mode.

You can switch between these modes with the Recorder menu at any time during the recording process. You do not need to pause or stop the Recorder to switch between recording modes.

Get to know the Recorder status icon

After you start the Recorder, the Recorder status icon appears in the bottom left corner of your window.

The status icon indicates the recording mode and whether recording is active or paused.

Icon	Description
	The Recorder is in Recording Mode. The icon flashes when recording is active.
	The Recorder is in Verification Mode. The icon flashes when recording is active.
	Recording is paused.

Navigate the Recorder menu

The Recorder menu appears when you hover over the Recorder status icon. Use it to control your recording.

You can drag and drop the Recorder menu to any position within the recorded window.

The Recorder menu provides the following control icons:

Icon	Description
	Pause the recording.
	Resume the recording.
	Stop and save the recording.
	Switch to Verification Mode.
	Switch to Create Image Based TestStep Mode.
	Open the settings dialog to configure the Recorder.
	Stop Verification Mode and switch to Recording Mode. This icon is only visible in Verification Mode.

Pause and resume the recording

To pause the recording, click on the Pause icon. The Recorder status icon changes to Paused.

When you pause the recording, the Pause icon changes to the Resume icon. Click on the Resume icon to start the recording again.

After you click on the Resume icon, the Recorder switches back to the mode which was used before the pause (Recording Mode or Verification Mode). You can continue recording further TestSteps.

Stop the recording and save the results

Click on the Stop and Save icon to end the recording process and save your recorded results.
