Track license usage

Tricentis License Usage Tracking collects license usage statistics of the Tricentis License Server. It stores your data in a database and updates the information every minute.

The Tricentis License Usage Reporting tool enables you to retrieve this data and create license usage reports that provide you with an overview of who uses which licenses. This allows you to quickly react to possible bottlenecks or under-consumption.

You can use Tricentis License Usage Tracking and Tricentis License Usage Reporting with both offline and online license servers.

Install, configure, and work with Tricentis License Usage Tracking

The standard installation and configuration of Tricentis License Usage Tracking is part of the license server installation. Additionally, we recommend that you configure the setting UsageInfoCacheBackupPath. This setting defines where the service backs up cached data when you restart the machine or service. For information on how to configure settings separately, see chapter "Configure settings separately".

For information on how to use the database, see chapter "Use the license database and reporting tool".

If you are using Tricentis License Server version 2.0.0 or older, see chapter "Work with the license tracking database".

If you want to know how to change the service's logging behavior, check out chapter "Configure logging behavior".
