Default Parameters

A number of workflow actions have default parameters. If you have LiveCompare Editor privileges, the default parameter for an action may be edited (in some cases) by choosing ‘Edit <Parameter>’ from the workflow action’s context menu. For example, the default parameter for an Execute SQL action may be modified by choosing ‘Edit Statements’ from its context menu. Alternatively, to edit an action’s default parameter, select the action node and press the F3 key.

  • If a diagram node has been created for an action’s default parameter, choosing ‘Edit <Parameter>’ from the action’s context menu modifies the parameter node directly. This has the same effect as choosing ‘Edit <Action Property>’ from the parameter node’s context menu.
  • If a diagram node has not been created for an action’s default parameter, choosing ‘Edit <Parameter>’ from the action’s context menu creates or modifies a literal value for the parameter. This has the same effect as choosing ‘>Edit…’ for the default parameter from its drop-down list in the Property Editor.
  • If a default parameter does not have a diagram node in the workflow or an ‘>Edit…’ option in the Property Editor, the ‘Edit <Parameter>’ item is not shown in the workflow action’s context menu.
